Filters is located in Plymouth, Devon and was founded in 1938,
initially specialising in filtration for the automotive
industry. Further research and development into other areas
resulted in filtration systems being designed for many
applications. These included filters for oils, fuels, beverages,
beer stabilisation and drugs, amongst many others.
FACILITIES
Laboratory
An
analytical room, a general test area and a flammable test
room, with a comprehensive range of instruments,
test equipment and test rigs, to cover development,
product support and quality assurance activities.
Engineering
Autocad CAD and MRP systems, A4 to A0 digitising & reproduction
machines and an extensive range of technical
information, with access to all national and
international standards through BSI.
Quality
A comprehensive range of inspection equipment, all of which are
calibrated to national standards, is available.
Specialised test rigs cover requirements for hydraulic and bubble
testing.Standards used are ASA Part 21 for the
Civil Aviation Authority, SABRE for Rolls Royce and ISO
9001 through LRQA for nany other blue chip customers,
including the Ministry of Defence.
Production
An MRP system controls all activities from purchasing
to final dispatch. Equipment includes paper converting, pleating
and metal forming machines, curing ovens and
cleaning plant. Production areas are segregated for
cleanliness and control and similarly there are general
and bonded stores areas.
Sales/Admin
Sage systems, which link into the MRP system,
give complete control of all aspects of Company and
Contract
activities.
